Let There Be Peace

By Monique Rhodes

May there be peace on this precious earth.

May all beings understand that war solves nothing,

It only feeds the greed and hunger for power,

And makes victims of the innocent.

May we each examine our own hearts

For any part of us that fuels anger and hatred

That appears justified

And understand that to have peace

We must each find it in our own hearts.

May we hold strongly in our minds

All of those innocent children, women and men

Whose lives will be lost.

And may we pray that President Putin

Sees the light.

That brings peace.

  • I was so sad to hear the news last night as I thought of all of those caught up in it, and for what? One man greed for power and maybe revenge. I can only but pray for all those caught up in the war and that somehow love and kindness will win at the end of the day.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Monique. Your words resonate deeply with me, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this dire situation. War is such a senseless activity. May peace prevail.

  • Thank you Monique. I love that you have posted this and it helped immensely. I feel very powerless about the situation and was wondering what I could do to help. You have given me some guidance. I cannot bring peace to the world but I can bring it to the space around me and if everyone in the world did that small thing we wouldn’t have any worries. I will go peacefully and gently in the world today. Love to all. Jx

  • You are so right. When Perestroika happened I thought we have found peace on earth however there are still people who are narrow minded and bring tears and harm to the world

  • Thank you, Monique, I needed this very much.
My heart and all my love is with the people who suffer because one person just has the power to make them suffer or even die.

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am praying for peace and safety for all involved. May my heart stay open while my mind tries to make sense of what seems so senseless.

  • Thank you, Monique, for these beautiful words. You bring wisdom and love to a situation that really needs it. The world needs you!

  • I needed to read this right now…Thank-you!! I’m devastated by what is happening to so many innocent souls! How can one person be so EVIL? Senseless violence….breaks my heart!

  • My heart aches for the Ukrainian people. Those who are just trying to live their lives, love their families and friends – care for each other. They are the victims of the political manuevering. No matter how this battle for land and people is viewed, these things are clear – there have been and will be innocents sacrificed; hearts, minds and bodies broken; inexplicable harm to both Ukrainian and Russian families and loved ones. We must care for one another – give love and work for peace in our own lives so that we can send our ripples of love and peace to those who need it most. It is my fervent hope for the common people of Ukraine and Russia that love and peace wins in the end.

  • Monique, having visited Ukraine 🇺🇦 on three different occasions my heart aches for these lovely hardworking people. Everyone I met were sweet and hospitable. They find themselves to be the victims of a greedy and powerful man who cares for no one but himself. How afraid they must be! We must never condone such actions upon anyone. It may be cliché to say but let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. 💕

  • We’ve come so far as a human race and yet we’ve gotten no where when it comes to power and hatred and a hunger for more. And President Putin is a hungry man. We can just pray he finds a way to end his hunger without war.

  • I couldn’t have said it any better. My heart aches for the loss of so many lives this was will bring, and the mental health that will be destroyed for those who live thru it.
