One of my students has a friend who always seems to talk about their problems and portray themselves as a martyr. It's important to be mindful of who we spend our time with, as negative attitudes can be contagious.

Indeed Monique! In my journey I’ve learned to recognize my victim thoughts, beliefs etc through the people I see doing it. In the Happiness Baseline I came to realize that (for me) complaining about anything is feeling victimazed. The more I saw that and realized it was not in my best interest to practice that, I let it go. Practicing my “no complaint” is wonderful. It’s an ongoing journey and practice it every day.
